Turn a photo into a Perler bead pattern

Choose a photo and get a fuse bead pattern with a bead count for every color and the number of pegboards it fills. It works for Perler, Hama midi, and other 5 mm beads. You don't need an account to convert.

The conversion runs in your browser. Your photo is not uploaded.

How it works

Drop in a photo

Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP. The pattern is drawn in your browser and redrawn when you change a setting, and the photo isn't uploaded.

Size it to your pegboards

Set the width in beads and the most colors you want to use. The converter counts the beads for each color and how many large square pegboards the design covers.

Keep editing

Open the pattern in the editor to fix single beads, swap colors, and print the pattern with symbols and a color key.

Frequently asked

How many pegboards will I need?
Large square pegboards for Perler and Hama midi beads are 29 pegs by 29 pegs. The converter shows how many of those your design covers. The boards snap together, so a bigger design is built across several of them.
How big will it be once ironed?
Perler and Hama midi beads are about 5 mm, so each bead in the pattern adds about 5 mm. A design 29 beads wide, one large pegboard, comes out about 14.5 cm (5.7 in) across.
Does it use real bead colors?
No. Each bead brand has its own color range, so the converter picks the colors that best fit your photo and counts how many beads use each one. Match them to beads you have, or change any color in the editor.
What kind of picture works best?
Bold shapes and a few flat colors, like cartoon characters, logos, and game sprites, read best at bead scale. Turn on Crisp edges for those. Photos of faces need a lot of beads to stay recognizable, so keep the width up and the colors low.
Do I need an account?
Not to convert a photo. The editor needs a free account, and the chart you made here opens in it when you sign up in the same browser.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and the photo stays on your device. Only the finished chart goes into the editor, and only if you choose to open it there.
