Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and your patterns belong to you.
Effective date: July 2026
What we collect
When you create an account we store your email address and the username you choose. When you save or publish patterns, we store those designs on our servers so you can access them later. If you say yes to the cookie banner, we also collect basic usage analytics — things like which pages you visit and which features you use — to help us improve the product. If you write to us through the contact form, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.
How we use it
Your information is used to provide the service — signing you in, saving your work, and displaying your published patterns to other users. We use aggregated, anonymous analytics to understand how people use Craft Studio so we can fix bugs and build better features.
Third parties
A few services help us run Craft Studio, and each only receives what it needs to do its job: Supabase (authentication and database hosting), Vercel (hosting the website), Stripe (payments — your card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers), Resend (delivering service emails like password resets), and Google Analytics (usage statistics, only if you opt in). If our software breaks, an error report — technical details of the failure, not your designs — goes to Sentry so we can fix it. When a pattern is published to the community gallery, its name, description, and chart preview are processed by Anthropicto write the pattern page’s description text. Each service has its own privacy policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
Cookies
Craft Studio uses session cookies to keep you signed in. The only other cookie is an optional analytics cookie (Google Analytics), which is set onlyif you accept the cookie banner — say no and it never loads. You can change your mind any time via “Cookie preferences” in the footer. We do not use advertising pixels. If you prefer, you can use the editor without signing in and no cookies will be set at all.
Your rights
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. You can export your patterns before deleting your account. If you have questions or want to request a copy of your data, reach out to us at hello@craftstudioapp.com.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update this page and note the new effective date above. For significant changes we will also notify registered users by email.
