Turn a photo into a diamond painting chart

Choose a photo and get a diamond painting chart with every color matched to a DMC number and a drill count for each one. You don't need an account to convert.

The conversion runs in your browser. Your photo is not uploaded.

How it works

Drop in a photo

Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP. The chart is drawn in your browser and redrawn when you change a setting, and the photo isn't uploaded.

Set the size and colors

Pick the width in drills and the most colors you want. Every color is matched to the nearest DMC number in the standard drill chart, with a count of the drills each one needs.

Keep editing

Open the chart in the editor to clean up single drills, swap colors, and print the chart with symbols and a DMC key.

Frequently asked

Does it use DMC drill colors?
Yes. Most diamond painting kits name drill colors by DMC floss number, so the converter matches each color in your photo to the nearest one in the standard 447-color drill chart and counts how many drills of each the chart needs. DMC doesn't make the drills, so shades vary a little between drill makers.
How big will the canvas be?
Square drills are 2.5 mm and round drills are about 2.8 mm. A design 100 drills wide covers about 25 cm (9.8 in) in square drills, or about 28 cm (11 in) in round ones. Leave extra canvas around the design for the border.
How many colors should I use?
More colors give smoother shading in faces and skies, but each one is another bag of drills to sort. Start around 20 to 30 and raise it only if the preview looks blotchy.
Do I need an account?
Not to convert a photo. The editor needs a free account, and the chart you made here opens in it when you sign up in the same browser.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and the photo stays on your device. Only the finished chart goes into the editor, and only if you choose to open it there.
