Cross stitch graph paper
Choose a count and paper size, then download a PDF to print. Bold lines every 10 squares, numbered edges and center marks are all optional.
71 × 92 squares on each sheet.
Print at 100% (Actual size), not Fit to page. Each sheet has a 1 inch ruler at the bottom, so you can check the scale before you start charting.
Charting by hand is a good way to plan, but every change means redrawing. In the Craft Studio editor you can recolor, resize and move parts of a design without starting over, then export a printable chart with symbols and a floss key. Try it free. To see how big a design will come out, use the aida count converter.
Frequently asked
- How many squares per inch should I pick?
- For sketching a design, 10 per inch is easy to count and leaves room to draw. To see a design at the size it will be stitched, match your fabric: 14 per inch for 14-count aida, and for evenweave or linen stitched over two threads, half the thread count (28-count over two is 14 per inch).
- Why does it say to print at 100%?
- Many print dialogs are set to Fit to page or Shrink to fit, which can scale the sheet down by a few percent, so the squares no longer match your fabric. Choose Actual size or 100%, then measure the 1 inch ruler at the bottom of the sheet to check.
- What do the numbers and arrows do?
- With numbering on, every heavier line is numbered along the top and left, counting from the top-left corner, the way cross stitch charts are read. The arrows mark the center column and row, so you can line up the middle of a design with the middle of your fabric.
- Can I use it for needlepoint?
- Yes. Needlepoint canvas is sold by mesh count, the number of holes per inch, so 10, 13 or 18 per inch prints at the size of the matching canvas.
- Is it free?
- Yes, with no account and nothing to install. The PDF is made in your browser, so you can print as many sheets as you need.
