Fuse bead pegboard calculator
Enter a design size in beads or centimeters to see how many large square pegboards it needs, how many beads, and the finished size.
Pegboards and beads
4 large square pegboards (2 across by 2 down), each 29 × 29 pegs.
58 × 58 beads, so up to 3,364 beads if every peg is filled.
In 5 mm beads it comes out about 29 × 29 cm (11.4 × 11.4 in).
Starting from a picture? The photo to Perler beads converter turns an image into a bead chart and counts the pegboards for you.
Frequently asked
- How many beads fit on a large square pegboard?
- The large square pegboard for standard 5 mm beads has 29 pegs each way, which is 841 beads when every peg is filled.
- How big is a full pegboard once it's ironed?
- At about 5 mm per bead, a full 29 by 29 board comes out close to 14.5 cm (about 5.7 in) square. Treat the sizes here as close estimates rather than exact measurements.
- Does this work for mini or Biggie beads?
- No. Mini beads and Biggie beads use their own pegboards, so this calculator is for standard 5 mm beads (called midi by Hama).
- How do I join pegboards for a bigger design?
- Large square boards are made to sit side by side, and many of them lock together. Lay out the number of boards across and down that the calculator shows before you start placing beads.
