Frequently asked
- How do I measure my gauge?
- Crochet a swatch a bit bigger than 4 inches square, in the yarn, hook and stitch you'll use for the blanket. Lay it flat without stretching it and count the stitches and rows across 4 inches in the middle, away from the edges.
- What size should my blanket be?
- Sizes vary a lot between patterns, so measure what the blanket is for. For a bed, measure the top of the mattress and add the drop you want on each side. For a lap or sofa blanket, hold a tape measure across your lap or the seat.
- How do I use it for a corner to corner blanket?
- Choose corner to corner and enter how many tiles fit in 4 inches of a swatch. C2C tiles come out close to square, so the same figure works across and down. The result is the size of the graph in tiles.
- What does the pattern repeat setting do?
- Many stitch patterns are written over a multiple of stitches plus a few extra for the edges, like a multiple of 6 plus 2. Enter those two numbers and the calculator rounds your stitch count to the nearest one that fits, so the pattern comes out even at both edges.
