Frequently asked

Can I make a cross stitch portrait of my pet?
Yes. Import a clear, well-lit photo of your pet into the editor — the Simplified mode handles fur texture well. Plan for at least 100 stitches on the longer side so facial detail survives.
How many colors do animal designs need?
Stylized animals can work in 5–10 colors. Realistic fur and feathers usually take 20–40 shades, with close color families doing the blending. The palette panel shows the count before you commit.
Are there small animal designs for beginners?
Plenty — small birds, cats, and woodland motifs under 50 × 50 stitches are classic first projects. Filter by beginner difficulty to see them.
